Dr. Robert Haagman

Robert graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Podiatry) at Curtin University in 1997 and has over 25 years’ experience in private practice.

Robert loves the Podiatry profession and what it offers patients. Robert himself was a Podiatry patient as a child which motivated him to help others.

He has grown his practice over the years creating good relationships with fellow practitioners/referrers and patients.

In the early 2000’s Robert completed post-graduate units in Health Science and a range of courses in musculoskeletal training, foot mobilizations, dry needling and muscle energy techniques.

To assist him in his rehabilitation work with clients, he also completed the AFIT gym instructor course.

Robert’s scope in podiatry covers all aspects of podiatry having held several positions at different practices/sports clubs/orthotic laboratories over his career.

Positions previously held outside of private practice include:

  • Consultant Podiatrist to the Perth Glory soccer club (20 years)
  • Consultant at an orthotic laboratory in manufacture and design
  • Lecturer at Curtin University in Orthotic manufacture
  • Consultant Podiatrist to the Australian Men’s Hockey team and the Australian Institute of Sport (6 years)
  • Board member/Director of Sports Medicine Australia (WA Branch) – 3 years

 
Robert’s interest in Podiatry lies strongly in the sporting podiatry field, working with the Perth Glory SC, but he also has a growing interest in Paediatrics and works closely with some of Perth’s leading Paediatricians/Rheumatologists dealing with Joint hyper-mobility and “growing Pains”.

Robert has grown his private practices at AllSports and Family podiatry (Merriwa), AllSports & Family Podiatry Perth (West Leederville) and works closely with Doctors, Chiropractors and Physiotherapists, comanaging his patients’ problems for the best outcomes and applies his understanding of different professional techniques to his clients’ problems.

After work hours, Robert spends a lot of time at the beach. He is a long service member of North Cottesloe Surf Lifesaving Club (20 + Years) and participates in Surf club activities and competitions. He has a love for the ocean, swimming, surfing and Kayaking. He enjoys middle distance running and was a former cricketer and soccer player in South Africa.

Growing up in South Africa Robert is Fluent in Afrikaans (Dutch Dialect).
