Customised Orthotics

AllSports and Family podiatry use 3D scanning of the patient’s foot to make custom orthotics.

We believe in using laboratories with the most up to date technology in orthotic design and manufacture, such as Footworks orthotic Laboratory.

Why do we need orthotics?

Many individuals have structural or alignment troubles with their feet. Around 70% of the population have feet that have the tendency to pronate or “roll in”.

Foot Orthotics, also referred to as Orthoses, are inserts that are placed into your shoes. They are developed to improve the posture, pressure distribution and biomechanical function of your feet. They do this by altering the position of joints, enhancing the placement of the lower limbs and muscles. This improved positioning decreases stresses on the foot and lower limb, improving symptoms and reducing the probability of future injury.

Customised Orthotics are products made specifically for you, your feet, your tasks, your footwear, and your lifestyle. These products need a 3D to be taken of your feet to obtain a precise image/model of your foot.

From here our podiatrists can specifically customize a prescribed orthotic to your biomechanics and the position in which your foot functions best. Our Podiatrists can then choose the degree of correction, shape, product, cover product, padding and accommodative additions, thickness, and size of the product, along with biomechanical additions to modify the function of muscles and joints locally.

We make firm and soft orthotics depending on your needs and requirements.

Customised Orthoses are made to last 3-5 years. Some or many of the cost may be covered by your private medical insurance if your health insurance covers Podiatry.
